Thanksgiving & Goat Hill go hand in hand

Thanksgiving was awesome at the Collins house this year, Denise was on it as usual! She made turkey, green bean casserole, carrots, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin loaf and chocolate cake! Yummy!

After dinner Jenny and I headed to LAX to pick up my mom, she had been in Taiwan for the past 3 weeks. She had a good flight and our timing for pick up was perfect. Jenny and I dropped her off and went to meet Timmy and Jason for Thanksgiving drinks at Goat Hill(Open 365 days a year)! Timmy got a pitcher of Guinness for my birthday! We had a few heart to hearts, drinks, and people watched as usual, Jason went home early as usual too! Good thing we woke him up when we got back at 1:30am!

Christine, Jenny, and I went the the Citizen of Humanity Sample sale in Costa Mesa today, it was pretty good. We all got 2 pairs each.

Viva Mexico!!!

Mexico was amazing! Taryn, Nicci, and I stayed at the Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta, just a hop skip and a sixteen dollar cab ride to Puerto Vallarta's Boardwalk. Our hotel room was awesome, it was basically a 2 bedroom apartment full with balcony and splash pool. The pools were huge and they had a lazy river.

The first few days we hit the beach in the morning/afternoon then went to local areas. We went to an area called Busaria's, it was a lovely beach town with lots of place to eat and shop. Nicci got a bead covered wooden jaguar which she named Bruce.

Tuesday we went on a bus tour of Puerto Vallarta the final destination of the tour was suppose to be a place called El Eden, this is where Governator filmed the Predator. We never made it to El Eden because I think our tour guides got lazy so we stopped 2km before by the river to take pictures. The Night of the Iguana was filmed on a beach in Puerto Vallarta in the 50s. These are Puerto Vallarta's only claim to fame. We also did a tequila tasting on one of the stops. Did you know the agave plant isn't in the cactus family? It is related to the pineapple and lily.

Wednesday was Canopy Zip Lining! This was probably my favorite part of the trip, there were 10 zip lines that ran a few hundred meters over the canopy of the jungle. Miguel, Edgar, and Hector were our guides, they were hilarious and pretty hot too. We bought the video from Hector who said he would totally customize it for us but did not! It's really boring but still kinda cool.

Thursday we took a boat to a small beach on the other side of Puerto Vallarta. On the way we all jumped off the boat to snorkel for 20 minutes. Nicci threw a bunch of bread at my head so I got to see some cool fish but it was over pretty quickly. We tanned ourselves on the boat on the way to the beach for lunch. We got a included lunch with our boat ride, it was pretty freaking nasty but I ate it cause I was hungry. After lunch we hung out on the beach and swam in the ocean, the water was really clam and warm. Thursday night we went back to the boardwalk and had dinner at PiPi's on Pipila street, it had authentic Mexican food and the biggest margarita's I've ever seen! After dinner we went to La Bodeguita de Medio, it is actually a Cuban restaurant we had eaten at earlier in the week. Taryn has been to the one in Prague and London, she was surprised to see it in Mexico and felt right at home.

Friday we has breakfast and hung out at the hotel until it was time to go to the airport. This trip was absolutely lovely!
